Chafin finds his ‘beater' after crowdsourcing Cubs fans

Andrew Chafin’s Twitter followers have tripled in recent days, thanks to a viral photo that should Chafin –and his musstache—in all its glory. And David Ross approves.

Last week, Cubs reliever and social media star Andrew Chafin called on fans to help him find a "beater" to drive around the North Side this season.

Chafin, a guy who looks like he's from the 1970s with a glorious mustache, now has an '80s car to pair.

The Cubs reliever tweeted a photo showing his search culminated with the purchase of a bright red Pontiac Firebird.

Chafin has become a cult hero among Cubs fans in the first few weeks this season. On the field, he's delivered scoreless outings in five of six appearances.

Online, a photo of the him with his sunglasses pulled down just under his eyes has sparked countless memes, with one edit showing a massive fire behind him.

With a sweet new ride, the legend of Chafin continues to grow.
