Cubs fans have meltdown as Cubs lead cut to a half game in the NL Central

Joe Maddon made a reference to "The Office" TV show earlier this week when he was asked about planning the Cubs postseason-clinching party, telling reporters that they would have to refer to the "Party Planning Committee" for details on the celebration. Well, two days later and Cubs are now only a half game up on the Brewers for the division lead and Cubs fans are acting like this is a fire drill gone wrong.

Shortly after the Cubs Tuesday night loss to the Pirates was official, fans took to Twitter to accurately show their feelings about this Cubs team, who despite owning the best record in the National League, look like anything but the favorites to win another championship.

Some people decided to coupe with the loss with jokes.

Luckily, there were a few people with some perspective on the Cubs season.

The Cubs are in a tight spot right now fighting for this division, but leave it to Len Kasper to sum things up as only he could.

The playoffs start Wednesday for the Cubs, and for the fans sake, please win, Cubs.
