The Cubs begin their pursuit for another championship on Wednesday at Wrigley Field, when they open their best-of-three NL Wild Card Series against the Marlins.

Prior to the game, the Cubs released their 28-man roster for the series, with no major surprises. Infielder Ildemaro Vargas has been activated off the 10-day injured list, while catcher Josh Phegley's contract has been selected from the South Bend alternate site.

Lefty Josh Osich was designated for assignment to make room for Phegley on the 40-man roster.

Here's the entire group, which features  those on the 40-man player pool, announced last week.
