In the Hunt for October presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield, we look at one of our Cubs Postseason Heroes, David Ross.

Postseason hero David Ross ended his major league career by hitting a home run in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series.

The 15-year veteran was playing in his final Major League game and entered the contest in the fifth inning.

In his first plate appearance, the 39-year old catcher took Cleveland Indians reliever Andrew Miller deep to center for a solo homer, making Ross the oldest player to hit a home run in Game 7 of the World Series.

After the Cubs clinched the title, Ross’ teammates carried him off the field, solidifying his status as a postseason hero.
