Postseason hero Kyle Hendricks solidified himself as a star pitcher on the mound in October.

“The Professor” got the ball in Game 1 of the 2017 NLDS against the Nationals and threw seven shutout innings. In the 3-0 win, Hendricks allowed just two hits with six strikeouts. Hendricks performance got the road team the win, and the Cubs would go onto win the NLDS 3-2.

Hendricks’ most notable postseason performance came in 2016 during the Cubs’ road to the World Series. Hendricks started Game 6 of the NLCS against the Dodgers and outdueled Clayton Kershaw.

Hendricks threw 7.3 shutout innings, and never allowed a runner to reach second base. Hendricks got the win in the Cubs 5-0 victory, leading the team to the World Series for the first time since 1945.
