Cubs Road Ahead: Welcoming the league's best to Wrigley

CSN's David Kaplan and Todd Hollandsworth preview the upcoming matchups against the Washington Nationals and Kansas City Royals in this week's Cubs Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland and NW Indiana Honda Dealers.

The Cubs will get their first big test of the young season this week as they welcome the Washington Nationals and Kansas City Royals to Wrigley Field.

Washington has won eight of their last 10 to take over the lead in the National League East, while the Royals are proving last year's playoff run was no fluke by leading the majors with a 28-15 record.

Both teams will be bringing powerful offenses with them, something Todd Hollandsworth said will be the Cubs' biggest test.

"Both these offenses have been elite this year. When you think about the Nats...Bryce Harper is taking the world by storm. We've been waiting for this to happen; it's now happening and we're going to get a look at it," he said. "Harper has become an impact bat, maybe the impact bat. That conversation between Harper and (Mike) Trout, who's better, is starting to come back up again and they're rolling right now. They've been pounding the baseball, they're putting a lot of offense out there and they're doing a lot of winning.

"(Kansas City's) got talent. They, too, are doing very well offensively. They've got the best bullpen in all of baseball, they've got a solid rotation - it's not great - but again they've got a great offense and we're going to see two of the better offenses in all of baseball go toe-to-toe with our guys. Hopefully we match up well with them.
