The Cubs reassigned top prospect Brennen Davis to minor league camp on Friday, the club announced to reporters in Arizona.
The move was expected before Davis' anticipated assignment to Triple-A Iowa to open the season.
Davis is the Cubs' consensus top prospect and the No. 15 overall in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.

The 22-year-old is coming off a breakout 2021 season in which he reached Triple-A and was named the Futures Game MVP. He hit .260/.375/.494 with 19 home runs and 53 RBIs in 99 games between Double-Tennessee and Iowa last season.
The Cubs promoted him to Iowa last September and he hit four home runs in 15 games.
He went 1-for-6 with a three-run home run in five games this spring.
The Cubs also made the following moves:
- Optioned pitcher Cory Abbott and outfielder Greg Deichmann to Triple-A Iowa
- Optioned pitchers Brailyn Márquez and Anderson Espinoza to Double-A Tennessee
- Assigned six non-roster invitees to minor league camp: pitchers Ben Leeper, Conner Menez and Locke St. John, and infielders Chase Strumpf, Dixon Machado and Andy Weber
