Cubs outfielder Jake Marisnick left during the first inning of Sunday’s loss against the Pirates. He felt better Tuesday, but will rehab on the 10-day injured list.

David Ross on Tuesday provided updates on several Cubs currently sidelined with injuries.

Jake Marisnick, who hit the injured list with a right hamstring strain last Tuesday, has started lightly running and is "doing well," according to Ross. The valuable fourth outfielder is hitting .264/.350/.623 in 27 games.

Marisnick passed by the manager's office Tuesday with a smile on his face, Ross said.

"I think he’s happy with how things are progressing," the manager added.

Ross also noted Trevor Megill will throw a bullpen and Alec Mills has a light bullpen scheduled on Thursday. Megill hit the IL on April 30 with a right forearm strain after two scoreless outings, the first appearances of his big league career.

Mills landed on the IL Sunday with a lower back strain after allowing three earned runs in 1 2/3 innings Saturday vs. Detroit.

"For the most part, everybody seems to be on track," Ross said.
