Adam Eaton sick, out of White Sox lineup again

MINNEAPOLIS — Adam Eaton is out sick again on Sunday.

The White Sox leadoff man was in such poor shape the club sent him back to Chicago on Saturday, manager Robin Ventura said. Though Eaton is said to be recovering, the White Sox figured he’d be better off recuperating at home with the hope he can return to the club when they open a three-game series against Detroit on Tuesday night.

“He wasn’t well enough to get in here so he made his way home yesterday and he’s not going to be in there today obviously,” Ventura said. “I’m hoping (for Tuesday). Just the way he feels and I haven’t seen him in a couple of days, I don’t know exactly how he’s feeling, I just get reports from Herm. He’s not feeling well enough to make it.”

Eaton isn’t alone.

Though he’s at first base on Sunday, Adam LaRoche was given a few extra days because he also felt sick. Catcher Tyler Flowers has been limited too, and his availability for Sunday’s game is in question.

“We’ve got a few guys that have something going around,” Ventura said. “It’s going around, so be careful who you talk to. Don’t get too close.”
