35 Days to Opening Night: Michael Jordan's points per game in 1988

There’s nothing like the first. Michael Jordan won five MVPs and the first might have been his best season statistically.

The number here is 35, his points per game (35.1), but Jordan’s season as a whole was remarkable.

He shot an incredible 53.5 percent from the field, led the league in steals (3.2) and won Defensive Player of the Year.

Going back to the points, Jordan had more games of 50+ points (four) than games of less than 20 points (three). Maybe most impressive, he made just seven 3-pointers all season. Long Live His Airness.
