‘Bulls Fest' coming to Chicago over Labor Day Weekend

Feeling confident in your 3-on-3 skills? Or just in the mood for some food and drink, with a basketball twist?

"Bulls Fest," which the Chicago Bulls announced they will host on the United Center grounds over Labor Day Weekend 2022 (Sept. 3-4), might be for you.

This is the inaugural year of the two-day street festival, and it will have multiple dimensions. There will be a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, art exhibitions, live music and refreshments.

And it will all take place between Wood Street and Damen Avenue, with an extension into the United Center's main atrium.

“Bulls Fest reflects our commitment to creating legendary experiences for our fans through basketball and championing the local artists and businesses that make our city so great,” Bulls president and COO Michael Reinsdorf said in a statement. “We are thrilled to incorporate Bulls Fest into Chicago’s exciting street festival lineup and close out the summer alongside the fans and city that support our team day in and day out.”

Here's what to expect from the festival:

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

This will be the marquee event for some, a 3-on-3 tourney with opportunity for anyone age eight and up to compete. All skill levels, according to a release, are accepted, and there will be brackets for wheelchair basketball teams.

The games will take place Saturday (Sept. 3) and Sunday (Sept. 4) in Lot C, which is located to the north of the United Center. Registration is open now, and will be through April 30.

The Bulls are also partnering with All Star Press Chicago — a studio based in Logan Square — to put together a showcase in the United Center's 1966 Gallery. There, attendees can view "designs and artistic interpretations of basketball and the Bulls brand from local artists."

There will also be Bulls Fest-exclusive merchandise for sale, from which a share of the proceeds will go to Chicago Bulls Charities.

From Wood Street to Damen Avenue, the two days of festivities will also feature an array of food and drink options derived from Chicago's restaurant and bar scenes. A release also pledged performances by the Bucket Boys, Bulls DJs, Incredibulls, Luvabulls, and Benny the Bull — all staples of the team's in-game entertainment package.
