Bulls point guard Tomas Satoransky, Czech Republic reach quarterfinals of FIBA World Cup

Another day, another impressive performance from the Bulls' new point guard.

Tomas Satoransky was at it again in the FIBA World Cup on Monday, finishing with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists in the Czech Republic's 84-77 loss to Greece. The Czechs advanced to the quarterfinals despite the loss because they lost by fewer than 12 points, giving them a tiebreaker win over Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Greeks.

It's much farther than anyone expected the Czechs to get in the FIBA World Cup; they're the 24th ranked team in the FIBA World Rankings.

But Satoransky has led the charge. In five games he's averaging 15.2 points on 44.6% shooting, 6.0 rebounds and 7.4 assists in 33.4 minutes. He has made 6 of 14 3-point attempts (42.9%) and is 20 of 22 from the free throw line (90.9%).

He'll look to keep the Czechs alive on Wednesday with a date against Australia.

In other Bulls-related World Cup news, Cristiano Felicio and Brazil were knocked out after a Monday loss to Team USA. Felicio was quiet in the loss, finishing 0 for 2 in 8 minutes.
