Former Chicago Bulls MVP Derrick Rose got engaged to his girlfriend, Alaina, recently, and did so in dramatic fashion.
Rose, who re-upped with the New York Knicks on a three-year, $43 million contract in August after being traded there last season, popped the question during what appears to be a date on the Madison Square Garden hardwood.
He and his fiancée both posted about the engagement on their Instagram accounts:

The unique idea has Knicks fans ready to nickname Rose "Mr. Deeds," a reference to the 2002 Adam Sandler flick in which Sandler's character, Longfellow Deeds, also plans a proposal at MSG:

Now engaged, Rose is clearly comfortable in his new city, and with his new team, which features former Bull Taj Gibson and is coached by former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau.
