Wendell Carter Jr. leaves Bulls-Mavericks game with apparent ankle injury

Share

An otherwise exciting matchup between the Bulls and Mavericks featured a pretty scary moment.

Partway through the third quarter (at the 8:25 mark), Wendell Carter Jr. came down awkwardly on Mavs center Dwight Powell's foot after a missed layup and appeared to bady turn his ankle.

Carter stayed down in pain for a few moments, then was helped off the court and into the visitor's locker room in a wheelchair.

A tweet from the Bulls later confirmed a right ankle sprain for Carter, but reported that X-rays were negative. That's a positive sign, albeit an early one.
