Terps get old ACC foe Boston College in Quick Lane Bowl

Maryland and Boston College weren't conferencemates for super long, but they still saw plenty of each other when they both played in the ACC.

The Terps have since joined the Big Ten, but they'll once more clash with the Eagles when the two play in the Quick Lane Bowl on Dec. 26 in Detroit.

DJ Durkin reached a bowl in his first season as the Maryland head coach, getting the Terps back to the postseason after a one-year absence due to last season's three-win campaign. He'll look to snap a longer drought in this game, as Maryland hasn't won a bowl game since the 2010 season, which ended with a win in the Military Bowl.

The Terps started 4-0 in Durkin's first year but stumbled to just a 6-6 finish once the big boys came calling in Big Ten play. Maryland thumped Purdue by a 50-7 score to open the conference portion of the schedule but lost six of the next eight, only grabbing wins against the league's two worst teams, Michigan State and Rutgers, who combined for just one conference win this season.

Boston College also posted a 6-6 mark during the regular season, winning just twice against Power Five conference opponents: North Carolina State and Wake Forest.

These two programs have seen each other 11 previous times, conferencemates in the ACC from 2005 to 2014.
