PITTSBURGH -- The Chicago Blackhawks selected center Teuvo Teravainen with their 18th overall selection at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft on Friday night.
The 18-year-old Teravainen (5-foot-10, 185 pounds) is considered a tremendously skilled forward. He had eight points in six games for Finland at the 2012 Under-18 World Championships.
Brandon Saad, a Pittsburgh native who the Blackhawks selected in the second round of last year's draft, made the announcement of the Teravainen selection.
