PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Logan Kohrmann scored 31 points and Breese Central used a 41-point second half to roll past Hales Franciscan, 71-58, and win the IHSA Class 2A third-place game on Saturday.
Kohrmann time and again was able to drive into the lane and finish, using his outside shooting threat to soften the defense. He hit three 3-pointers.
The Cougars (31-5) led from start to finish, including by a game-high 20 in the third quarter. Central took advantage of Hales' cold shooting. The Spartans made just 23 of 58 shots in the game and hit just two 3-pointers before hitting two late in the game.
Milton Wordlow led Hales (20-14) with 18 points and Austin Trice added 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Corben Zanger chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds and Jack Strieker grabbed eight boards for the Cougars.
