Bears injury report: Aaron Lynch, Roquan Smith are full participants at Wednesday practice

Entering the 2018 season, the Bears are about as healthy as they can possibly be. They dealt with some nagging injuries throughout the preseason, and Matt Nagy was extra cautious with his banged up players, but most of the 53-man roster is ready to rock and roll for Week 1.

Safety DeAndre Houston-Carson was the only player unable to participate in practice on Wednesday, which is no surprise after he broke his forearm this preseason.

Tight end Daniel Brown was the only Bears player who was limited.

The big story is the players who were able to practice fully. Most notably, outside linebacker Aaron Lynch was uninhibited for the first time after practicing in only a limited basis during the preseason. Rookie linebacker Roquan Smith was also back to 100 percent, which could be a strong first step toward both of them making their Bears debut on Sunday.

Neither will likely be ready for a full game of snaps, but the sooner they can get back on the field, the bigger roles they’ll be able to play for the team this season.

The next step is stringing together full practices and showing the coaching staff they’re ready for live action against the Green Bay Packers.
