Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot calls out Bears' offense, Piñeiro

Lori Lightfoot is OVER it.

Chicago's mayor was doing press at an event and was asked whether she'd be watching the Bears with her mom – a big football fan – at Thanksgiving. Turns out that's a big ol' maybe:

yeeeesh. I don't know a better way to convey the sound of gritting teeth, but that's what's happening.

But also, she's not wrong? The offense has been bad and Piñeiro's slump is getting more discouraging by the game. But jeez Lori, cut them some slack! Eddy Piñeiro is practicing at Soldier Field!!! Without a police escort!

I actually feel bad for Piñeiro here. How would 24-year-old you react to being dragged in a televised press conference by the mayor of America's third-largest city? I don't think Lenny Curry (Jacksonville's mayor — I promise, you don't need to look it up) is out there giving Josh Lambo (Jacksonville's kicker — I promise, you don't need to look it up) a hard time. Kicking in Chicago is a unique experience in that it's just like being the quarterback of any other NFL team but without any of the pay or job security.

Thank god they're playing the Giants this weekend.
