The Bears got a key piece of the defense back at practice this week. Eddie Jackson was on the field running full go as Bears OTAs wind down for the year.

"Eddie has worked his tail off to get back to where he is," said Matt Eberflus. "He’s in really good shape for working with the rehab staff and I want to commend those guys, the training staff, of getting him back and commend Eddie also for the hard work that he’s put in to get to this point."

Previously, Jackson was at Halas Hall participating in team meetings and things of that nature, but not practicing on the grass as he continued his rehab from a Lisfranc injury suffered in Week 12 last season. Jackson did not need surgery on his injured foot, which was fortunate since surgery can be an indicator of a more serious injury.

Jackson participated in both individual and team drills. He even got in some extra sprints on the sidelines when the team was working on special teams. But Jackson’s rep count appeared to be less than some of his teammates. We know that the Bears like to ramp players up gradually if they have been sidelined for an extended period of time.
