Cole Kmet started his rookie NFL season off slowly, but has the season progressed, his role grew steadily until he was a key offensive cog down the stretch, and the future is bright for the 2020 2nd-round pick.
Greg Olsen is calling it a career. On Sunday afternoon, Olsen announced he was retiring from the NFL, and would join FOX’s broadcast team.
“I’m proud of what I was able to accomplish,” Olsen said. “Proud of the relationships, everything the game has given me. But sometimes, when it’s time, it’s time. My time in the NFL has now come to an end. I’m excited for the next chapter. I’m excited that the next chapter involves the FOX family and that I’ll be working with FOX moving forward with my post-career endeavors.
“I’m stepping away, I’m done, I’ve got it all out of my system.”

Olsen elaborated with a statement he tweeted out as well.
The Bears drafted Olsen in the first round of the 2007 draft, but traded him to the Carolina Panthers before the 2011 season. In his three seasons with the Bears, Olsen caught 20 touchdown passes. That’s second in franchise history at tight end, behind only Mike Ditka’s 36 scores.
In the Super Bowl era, Olsen ranks fifth among all tight ends for both receiving yards (8,683) and catches (742). He made three straight Pro Bowls from 2014-2016, and earned All-Pro honors twice.
