Rodgers seen enjoying Kentucky Derby amid Packers saga

NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt discusses his recent interview with Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, including why the former MVP believes he’s certain to play for another team before his career winds down. Could circumstances align for it to be with the Bears?

Aaron Rodgers is having himself a day at the Kentucky Derby while his saga with the Green Bay Packers continues.

Ahead of the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft on Thursday, it seemed possible that there would be a blockbuster deal involving Rodgers, who has been openly unhappy with the Packers front office.

Now, in an interview on the Packers website, CEO Mark Murphy acknowledged the situation: "We are very much aware of Aaron’s concerns and have been working with him (and his agent Dave Dunn) to resolve them."

Murphy added, "We remain committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond. … We look forward to competing for another Super Bowl championship with Aaron as our leader."

Meanwhile, Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reports that Rodgers is “adamant” that he will not return to the Packers as long as Brian Gutekunst is general manager.

With his year-to-year contract, we'll just have to wait and see if the Packers can swing a deal and go with last year's first-round pick, Jordan Love, over the disgruntled reigning MVP.
