After Javon wims punched Saints DB Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and Alex Brown does not want to see him back with the Bears next week.
The NFL handed down a significant punishment for Bears wide receiver Javon Wims on Monday, suspending him two games for repeatedly punching New Orleans Saints safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson in the helmet during Sunday’s 26-23 overtime loss at Soldier Field.
Wims’ suspension is without pay, and he will appeal it, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
The suspension comes from Wims violating an NFL rule prohibiting “striking, swinging at or clubbing the head, neck or face of an opponent with the wrist(s), arm(s), elbow(s) or hand(s), as well as committing an act “contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.”

Wims will be eligible to return to the Bears’ active roster following their Week 10 Monday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings.
In Wims’ place, expect 2019 fourth-round pick Riley Ridley to be active on gamedays for the first time in 2020.
