Two Blackhawks rookies made their NHL debuts and Patrick Kane scored two goals in a 6-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday. Here are four takeaways:

NHL statement on coronavirus

During the third period of the Hawks-Sharks game, the NHL released a statement regarding the coronavirus. The league said it was aware of the NBA suspending its season after a player tested positive for coronavirus, but that they'll have a further update tomorrow.

Two debuts

Defenseman Nicolas Beaudin and forward Brandon Hagel made their NHL debuts Wednesday night against the Sharks for the Hawks.

Beaudin had a +/- rating of +1, recorded two shots on goal, blocked two shots and had two hits in 17:01.

Hagel had four shots on goal and one hit in 11:48.

All-rookie line

Hagel played on a line with fellow rookies Kirby Dach and Dominik Kubalik. Kubalik was on the left wing with Dach centering and Hagel on the right.

Kubalik scored at 18:03 of the third period for the 6-2 final score.

His 30 goals lead all rookies and Dach has 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 64 games with Chicago.

Power play fix

The Blackhawks shook off their rust on the power play on Wednesday, 2-for-3 on the man advantage.

The Hawks went 1-for-20 in their previous six games and hadn't scored on the power play since Feb. 25 in St. Louis.

Duncan Keith scored the first power-play goal for Chicago at 4:33 of the second period to tie the game 1-1 on the Hawks' first man advantage of the game.

Patrick Kane added another power-play goal for the Blackhawks later in the second at 16:33, giving the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead.

Kane also had an even-strength goal at 16:19 of the third period to make it 5-2. He has 33 goals on the year.
