Adam Boqvist has been taken off the COVID list and is close to returning to the Blackhawks lineup.

Adam Boqvist has been removed from the NHL's COVID-19 protocol and was added to the active roster, the Blackhawks announced on Monday. The team's list now includes only two players: Ryan Carpenter and Lucas Wallmark.

Boqvist was placed in the protocol on Jan. 25, which was exactly two weeks ago. He has missed the last seven games and it's unclear when he could return to the lineup.

The 20-year-old Swedish defenseman had three assists, a minus-1 rating, and time on ice average of 15:59 in his first six games. He also served as the quarterback on the first power-play unit prior to being sidelined.

The Blackhawks have picked up at least a point in nine of their last 10 games and it's a positive sign that they're starting to get more bodies back during a time where things are clicking as a group.
