The Blackhawks announced Thursday afternoon that defenseman Brent Seabrook underwent successful right hip surgery and is expected to be cleared for full hockey activity in five-to-six months.
Seabrook's right hip surgery was the final of the three in his reconstructive process after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder in December and his left hip in January. He was placed on season-ending long-term injured reserve on Dec. 26, 2019.
The five-to-six month timeline puts Seabrook at a July or August return, which means he should be ready for training camp in September. But it's unclear what the future holds for Seabrook, who turns 35 in April and has four years remaining on his contract after this season that carries a $6.875 million cap hit.

Seabrook has played a major role in helping the Blackhawks bring three Stanley Cups to Chicago and is a beloved figure in the dressing room.
"He's earned that reputation as a guy who puts the team before himself, time and time again," Jonathan Toews said. "Obviously a great leader in this locker room. Across the board, he brings it all — plays through a lot of issues and pain obviously, and he's done that in the playoffs and regular season over the years. It's kind of crazy to look at how many games he's played in the playoffs and regular season. That adds up.
"Give him credit for what he's been able to do. Just hope everything goes to plan and he gets healthy and fresh and ready to go whenever the recovery period is up."
