After Patrick Kane grabbed his 1,000th career point on Jan. 19, he continues to climb the all-time list and cement his legacy as one of the greatest U.S.-born players to ever play the game.

Kane, 31, has jumped over a dozen spots on the NHL all-time points list so far this year.

The illustrious winger passed former Buffalo Sabre forward Pat LaFontaine to take sole possession of No. 86 on Friday, reaching 1,014 points.

Kane picked up the primary assist on Alex DeBrincat's third-period goal, a deflection past Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne to tie the game at 1-1. The Hawks went on to win in overtime thanks to another goal from DeBrincat.

On Sunday, he picked up the primary assist on rookie Dominik Kubalik's power-play goal to tie it at 1-1 against the Dallas Stars in the second period. After getting the puck from Keith, Kane skated to the top of the left circle and passed it to Kubalik for the one-timer from the right circle, earning "Showtime" his 1,015th career point.

The Hawks lost 2-1 in regulation in Dallas on Sunday.

Kane now sits one point behind Minnesota Wild center and native Canadian Eric Staal, for 85th on the all-time points list.

Brett Hull, Mike Modano, Phil Housley, Jeremy Roenick, Keith Tkachuk, Joe Mullen, Doug Weight and Brian Leetch remain the only U.S.-born players ahead of Kane on the all-time points list.
