Forward Matthew Highmore is rejoining the Blackhawks after beginning the season with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.
The 23-year-old had four goals and six assists in 17 games with the IceHogs before the Blackhawks brought him up on Monday. He played three preseason games with the Blackhawks this year and recorded an assist.
Highmore went undrafted before the Blackhawks signed him in 2017. In his first season with Rockford, 2017-18, he tallied 24 goals and 19 assists in 64 games. His play earned him his NHL debut that season. He finished with two goals in 13 games for the Blackhawks.

Last season, Highmore was limited to 12 games (3 goals, 6 assists) due to a shoulder injury.
This move comes two days after Drake Caggiula was placed on injured reserve.
