Blackhawks release 2018-19 training camp roster

Who's ready for some hockey?

After a long summer, the Blackhawks will return to the ice on Friday for training camp and released their roster for it that will include 57 players: 30 forwards, 20 defensemen and seven goaltenders.

Corey Crawford is listed on the roster, which isn't surprising, but it's still unknown whether he'll actually be ready to participate in on-ice activities after dealing with a mysterious upper-body injury since last December. On the Blackhawks official roster page, Crawford is under the injured reserve category. But Blackhawks President & CEO John McDonough said last week that the hope is their starting goaltender will be there, a stance the organization has taken all offseason.

Brandon Davidson appears to be the only player on a professional tryout, and reportedly has a one-year offer on the table if he performs well. The 27-year-old defenseman recorded four goals, three assists, averaged 16:49 of ice time and registered 105 hits and 89 blocked shots in 51 games last season with the Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders.
