CSN Preps Basketball Power Rankings: No. 12 Kenwood

Share

School: Kenwood

2015-16 record: 22-5, 9-1 in the Chicago Public League Red-Central

Postseason results: Lost to Curie, 59-57 (OT), in the Class 4A Riverside Brookfield Sectional finals.

Players to watch: Senior center Manny Patterson is a major factor on the interior and one of the city's best centers. Senior David Hunt is another returning starter who can heat up as a scorer. Transfers Cameron Bowles (Homewood-Flossmoor) and Octavius Parker (Niles West) help with depth.

Why they're in the Power Rankings: Kenwood has more depth than last season's team as transfer Bryce Langdon is eligible at guard and two rotation guys, Nas Turner and Antonio Reeves, both have Division I offers. This team is deep and talented but has to find a go-to guy and learn to gel.

Did you know?: Kenwood took two of three from Class 4A state champion Curie last season and that is emerging as one of the best rivalries in the area. The three games between the Broncos and Condors were decided by a total of five points.
