What's wrong with the Blackhawks' power play?

The Blackhawks' power play is struggling mightily.

After going 0-for-4 on the power play in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, the Blackhawks are now 1-for-17 in their last four games. Their lackluster effort even drew some boos from the United Center crowd.

Sure, it didn't help that the Blackhawks were facing the league's best defensive team, or that they were playing in their fifth game in seven days. But it badly needed to generate something, and again on Monday, it didn't in four tries.

As of Sunday, the Blackhawks have the fourth-worst power play percentage at 16.1. Only the Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres, and Columbus Blue Jackets rank below them.

It's not the first time this season that Joel Quenneville's group has gone through a rough power play stretch.

The Blackhawks went through something similar in late October, where they went 1-for-21 in a five-game set.

So what’s going on?
