Tuesday's St. Louis Blues-Anaheim Ducks game has been postponed and will be made up at a later date, following a harrowing incident involving Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester.

With just under 8:00 remaining in the opening period, Bouwmeester collapsed on the St. Louis bench.

The Blues are currently on their two-game "Dad's trip," in which 21 dads (or guests) — including Jay's father Dan Bouwmeester — will be traveling with the team, sitting in team meetings, and attending games in Anaheim (February 11) and Vegas (February 13).

The St. Louis broadcast did state that Bouwmeester's eyes were open and he was responsive while being transported to the local hospital.

The St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong released a statement following the game, stating that Bouwmeester suffered a "cardiac episode," and that he was "conscious and alert" as he underwent further testing at the UC Irvine Medical Center.
