It's probably safe to say Cubs fans have already forgotten about Javy Báez' lapse running the bases Thursday against the Mets.
The Cubs shortstop put together an all-around impressive performance Friday against Milwaukee, going 3-for-5 with a double and a home run.
The home run, a solo blast of Josh Lindblom, was absolutely crushed into the left field bleachers. It followed a solo home run off Anthony Rizzo's bat.

But Báez wasn't done there. With one out in the fourth inning, he made an insane diving stop on a hard one-hop smash up the middle. Báez flipped the ball with his glove to second baseman Nico Hoerner, starting a 6-4-3 double play.
"It was awesome to watch from my vantage point," starter Kyle Hendricks said of Báez' stop. "It was such a sweet play.
"It did surprise me a little bit, but it still shouldn't at all. This is just what he does day in and day out. It's such a treat to watch him take the field every day."

Báez' lapse Thursday didn't cost the Cubs. His performance Friday certainly helped them win in a blowout.
