And on Wednesday night, ‘close’ was roughly the size of a shoelace.
Carlos Rodon became the 20th member of the White Sox no-hitter club, just missing out on a perfect game. He got Jordan Luplow to ground out to third to seal the no-no a few plays after hitting Roberto Perez in the foot, spoiling the perfecto.

Fans were able to celebrate Rodon’s no-hitter in person on the South Side, unlike last year's no-hitter with Lucas Giolito on the mound.
