Giannis Antetokounmpo extension with Bucks cuts Bulls fans deep

With one Shams Charania tweet, Bulls fans' 2021 free agency dreams died.

Breaking: Giannis Antetokounmpo says he is signing a contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks. The two-time MVP will sign a five-year, $228.2 million supermax extension with the franchise, the largest deal in NBA history, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is staying in Milwaukee after agreeing to a massive extension. This, of course, is bad news because that means the two-time MVP will be in the Bulls' division for the foreseeable future. But it's also sad news for all those who were holding out hope that Artūras Karnišovas' first huge splash would be to bring the Greek Freak to Chicago.

well now that giannis is staying put unless p-will is a superstar or billy donovan is THAT good of a coach, or barring a major trade, i don't see how the bulls get to championship level any time soon unless they miss the playoffs this year and luck into #1 somehow? i dunno.
