How Star Wars interrupted NBA All-Star weekend announcement

It turns out the Star Wars franchise impacts the NBA too.

Tuesday night, the league was poised to announce the participants for its 2021 3-Point Contest, Dunk Contest and Skills Challenge at 6 p.m. CT on TNT. But that didn't come to fruition until just after 6:30 p.m.

Instead? Viewers were treated to Luke Skywalker facing off with Kylo Ren on Crait in the final act of "The Last Jedi."

Meanwhile, some observant reporters and fans caught a sneak glimpse of the field for the 3-point shootout on the league's website:

After pulling the graphics off their website, the league eventually announced the news on TNT just before the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics tipped off their Tuesday night matchup (confirming the above group).

For Bulls fans, it gives Zach LaVine a chance to show off his shooting skills before he plays in the All-Star game Sunday night. Live look at LaVine hearing there was another All-Star event for him to participate in:
