Is ESPN hinting at early release for ‘The Last Dance' documentary on 1998 Bulls?

With American sports effectively shut down for the foreseeable future, it's a question on the minds of many: What do we... Do?

Like, in general. Because as much fun as Netflix binges are, or as fulfilling as a good book can be, the absence of live sports (and the discourse that surrounds it) leaves a gaping void in the lives of a lot of people — myself certainly included.

One way many in my Chicago-centric Twitter bubble have suggested filling that void is by petitioning ESPN to release 'The Last Dance' — a 10-part documentary series that has promised to tell the "untold stories of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls" — a couple months early.

The series is currently scheduled to release in June, as the original trailer itself says pretty clearly:

But could that change, with no live sports to fill airtime for the weeks and months to come? There's been nothing resembling official word from ESPN yet, but there might be reason to believe they're leaving a trail of hints:

That's right. Recent commercials on ESPN's air have tweaked that 'Coming in June' verbiage to 'Coming Soon.' A sign perhaps? It's impossible to say. For what it's worth, Ryan Glasspiegel of The Big Lead reported that, according to a source at ESPN, there are "no current plans" to release the doc early.

So, really, this all amounts to little more than tinfoil hat posturing and tea leaf reading. For now. If ESPN were to pull the trigger on an early release, it would be certainly be greeted by tremendous ceremony.
