The Blackhawks have traded forward Dylan Sikura to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for forward Brandon Pirri, the team announced Monday.

Sikura, 25, had one year left on his contract that carried a $750,000 cap hit. He appeared in 47 games across three seasons in Chicago, where he registered one goal and 13 assists, but could never quite solidify a full-time roster spot.

Pirri, 29, recorded 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points in 38 games with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League this past season. He also compiled 42 points (18 goals, 24 assists) in 29 games for the Wolves last season, and had 18 points (12 goals, six assists) in 21 games for Vegas.

Pirri was originally drafted by the Blackhawks in the second round (No. 59 overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft. He won the John B. Sollenberger Trophy as the AHL's top scorer with 75 points (22 goals, 53 assists) in 2012-13 with the Rockford IceHogs.

Pirri has one year left on his contract that carries a $775,000 cap hit.
