The Bulls haven't played their best basketball of late, but their biggest (and most powerful) supporter is still in their corner.
President Barack Obama was asked where his loyalties would stand should the Wizards and Bulls meet in the Eastern Conference Finals, and the Commander In Chief was quick to back his hometown team.
“I think it’s fair to say any time the Bulls are playing I’m rooting for the Bulls,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “Bulls all the way, that’s how we roll.”
It's the second time this season Obama has reiterated his loyalty to the Bulls, telling Colin Cowherd in December that the Bulls were his pick to come out of the East, despite LeBron James and the Cavaliers heating up.
"The Cavs are starting to jell but I like Tom Thibodeau as a coach,” the President said. “The guy is tough. They play hard. [Joakim] Noah is a fighter. If [Derrick] Rose, even if he doesn’t come back to MVP levels, if he’s playing at an All-Star level, I think the Bulls can beat the Cavs this year."

When told of Obama's comments, Thibodeau smiled and said, "He's got my vote."

The Wizards moved on to the second round thanks to a surprising first-round sweep of the No. 4 Toronto Raptors. They knocked off the Bulls in five games in the first round of last year's playoff series and will play the winner of Atlanta-Brooklyn.
The Bulls won the first three games of their playoff series with the Bucks but have since dropped two straight, setting up a Game 6 in Milwaukee on Thursday. No team in NBA history has ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit.
Win or lose, one thing's for sure: President Obama is Seeing Red.
