New York Knicks players and officials don't know why Derrick Rose missed Monday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The New York Daily News' Stefan Bondy added that Rose's absence wasn't announced before tipoff.
The former Bulls point guard is averaging 17.3 points per game this season, but was benched during the fourth quarter of the Knicks' win against the Bucks on Friday. Wojnarowski tweeted that it was unclear whether head coach Jeff Hornacek's decision to sit the former MVP factored into his absence.
According to Bleacher Report's Howard Beck, former Bulls center Joakim Noah, who has long been an ardent Rose supporter, made contact with the point guard and said he's "OK."
